Letters, 1814-1832, written to United States ministers to France including William Harris Crawford, Albert Gallatin, William Cabell River, and Nathaniel Niles. The correspondents include Elie Decazes, Antoine René Charles Mathurin, comte de La Forest, and Armand Emmanuel du Plesis, duc de Richelieu. The letters deal with a variety of diplomatic matters such as the exchange of war prisoners and refuge for the ship DECATUR.

Letters of Lucas to Arnold Bennett, discussing details of publishing, and containing many personal references; and twenty carbon copies and one draft original of Bennett's replies. Also, 34 letters from Lucas to miscellaneous authors and friends, mostly concerned with publishing; 25 miscellaneous manuscript by Lucas, including poems, speeches, and books; and 95 letters to Grant Richards, his publisher, 1898-1902, with four miscellaneous letters.

Correspondence and manuscripts. The collection includes manuscript drafts and typescripts of two volumes of his autobiography: THE OLD CENTURY AND SEVEN MORE YEARS, 1938; and THE WEALD OF YOUTH, 1942. There are also 13 volumes of early notebooks for the period 1894 until 1909 (from age 8 to 22) containing drafts of over 200 poems, 19 short stories and many drawings. There is some correspondence about the autobiography. Also includes 21 letters from Arnold Bennett, 51 letters from Lady Ottoline Morrell, 26 letters from H.M. Tomlinson, 19 letters from Sassoon to his mother-in-law, Lady Gatty, 22 letters from Sassoon to his son, letters from many others, and a typescript of his poem "A love affair" with holograph note

Reynolds agency, and his son, Paul Revere Reynolds, Jr. The records consist of correspondence, contracts, scripts, and financial records. The files are rich in correspondence between authors and agents and provide important information about some of the most significant works published in the last seventy years.
