A collection of photo albums (111 items) representing the faculty and graduating classes of Columbia College (now known as Columbia University in the City of New York), and more specifically, the School of Arts (the undergraduate college now known as Columbia College). While the majority of the albums represent Columbia College, there are a few from other Schools including: the School of Law, the School of Mines, and the School of Music. Additionally, there is one album with portraits of Trustees, one from the School of Mines Summer School of Practical Engineering, and one documenting the performance of Capt. Kidd.

Collected by Jeanne Kleinfield Welcher (1923-2010), great granddaughter of Samuel Putnam Avery Sr. (1822-1905), this collection contains materials pertaining to the philanthropic efforts of the Avery Family during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries in the United States. The collection contains institutional documents, professional and personal correspondence, newspaper clippings, visual and research material, and personal affects pertaining to three generations of the Avery Family.

Morton Pepper Collection of Abraham Lincoln portraits and memorabilia, 1860-1940

Contemporary engravings, lithographs, carte-de-visite photographs, and memorabilia; 20th century drawings and reproductions of portraits of Lincoln, his family, and his contemporaries. Among the portraits of Lincoln are a charcoal sketch by the sculptor Gutzon Borglum, lithographs by Currier and Ives, photographs by Mathew Brady and his studio. Memorabilia in the collection include bookends and sculptures, a dinner plate, a carved plaque, a reproduction of a death mask, a mourning ribbon, silk commemorative badges, and a hair ornament worn by Mrs Lincoln, in a leather-covered trinket box with the President's initials on it.

Chemist, Professor, and President of the New York Metropolitan Board of Health. Professor Chandler taught at Union College before joining the faculty of Columbia University where he taught in the Chemical Department, the College of Physicians and Surgeons, and served as one of the founders and long-time Dean of Columbia University's School of Mines. He was interested in Industrial Chemistry and Public Health, serving on the New York Metropolitan Board of Health for many years and implementing a number of significant public health and public housing reforms.
