484 itemsThe collection consists of 484 letters written by Jonathan Nathan to his college classmate, Hamilton Fish, Sr. (1808-1893). The letters seem to have been written between the years 1843 and 1857 though many of them are undated. The letters are personal in nature, dealing with daily activities, friends, and travel.

The collection also contains some other textile materials, including the Women's Banner or Butler Library Banner (in two parts), Columbia College banners and flags, and some crew sweaters. Materials were presented in an audio visual slide presentation at the Faculty House. It includes newspaper headlines, photographs of people and campus scenes, and original images of people and subjects. The collection also contains negatives, one 0.25" reel, one 45-minute audio-cassette, and one compact VHS cassette of magnetic tape.

1 document boxThis small collection contains primarily Detwiller's student drawings, notes, course materials, books, class photographs, and graduation announcements from the period of his study at Columbia University from 1881 to 1885. These materials are supplemented by a small group of Detwiller's childhood sketchbooks, drawings and office papers created by Detwiller during his practice as a professional architect, and other scrapbooks and ephemeral items relating to Detwiller's family and personal interests, spanning the years 1874 to 1940.
