The Orders of Architecture engravings, 1536

8 items
Abstract Or Scope

8 engravings signed A.V., after drawings by S.B. (usually identified as Sebastiano Serlio). The initials S.B. appeared on impressions of the first state only, which were made in Venice in 1528. In the third state, a later publisher, Antonio Salamanca, added his name: Ant. Sal. exc. These engravings are third state. This set of 8 prints contains nos. 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11. Plates 4, 6, 8 are lacking.
