The collection documents the teaching, research, and writing of the international relations scholars William T. R. and Annette Fox. It contains research notes, manuscripts, correspondence, course syllabi and lecture notes, and published works by the Foxes and others scholars whose work informed their own.

The office files of the American Institute of Pacific Relations and the international Institute of Pacific Relations, containing correspondence and reports concerned with international conferences, research programs, and publications programs of both Institutes, and relating to the political, economic, and social problems in eastern and southern Asia and the South Pacific, as well as with problems of American foreign policy. There are many travel letters and on-the-spot reports relating to conditions in China, Japan, Russia, Australia, the Philippines, India, and Pakistan during the period 1933 to 1954.

The collection consists entirely of personal papers including correspondence, manuscripts, and miscellaneous materials, most of which pertain to Davis' family. The most interesting parts of the collection are Davis' letters from Russia, 1916-1919, which contain his observations on the Russian Revolution, and Davis' short story and play manuscripts, none of which were ever published.
