The collection contains primarily architectural drawing reproductions documenting the site history of Columbia University's Geology Library from Schermerhorn Hall on Columbia Unversity's Morningside campus to, later, the Lamont-Doherty Geological Observatory in Palisades, N.Y. The drawings are largely floor plans and some building elevations of both the early and later sites, but the collection also includes a survey map of the Palisades, N.Y. site, and site plans for the Thomas W. Lamont, Esq. Country Residence and Gardens. Also included are 9 student drawings of the Geology and Zoology Library in Schermerhorn Hall by School of Mines student Eugene B. Sieminski, Jr. dated 1958. Architects represented include McKim, Mead, and White, Paver & Wildfoerster, and Olmstead Brothers Landscaper Architects.

Eli Rabineau architectural records and papers, 1942-1987

Eli Rabineau (1914-1991) was an architect whose practice was most active in Westchester County, New York. He graduated with a degree in architecture from New York University in 1946, and with a degree in urban planning from Columbia University in 1970. He designed many public buildings, synagogues, and Jewish centers, including the award-winning Yonkers Public Library Sprain Brook (East) Branch (Now Grinton I. Will Branch), which project records comprise the majority of the present collection.

Charles H. Warner Jr. was a New York-based architect active from the 1940s through the 1990s. Warner designed many buildings on college campuses in the United States and abroad. Additionally, Warner built many hotels, working extensively with Hilton Hotels to build new establishments all over the world. His work in foreign countries underscores his core architectural principle of designing "in context," or incorporating local culture and tradition into his buildings. Some of his more well-known hotel projects include the Ramses Hilton in Cairo and the Caribe Hilton in San Juan.
