The incomplete records of the New York State Library School, Albany, 1890-1911. Included are diploma lists, grade sheets, examination questions, examination questions with corresponding set of students' answers, pass cards, senior certificate lists, an admissions application, entrance examinations, curriculum materials, and some documents for the class of 1890. Also, records of the New York State Library School Association, Incorporated. In addition to letters from such prominent American librarians as Katharine L. Sharp, Joseph Wheeler, Ralph Munn, and James I. Wyer, there are minutes, reports, memoranda, and printed documents, including the Association's constitution. There is a scrapbook of blanks and forms used in the executive departments of U.S. libraries in 1893, mounted by the N.Y. State Library School for the American Library Association World's Columbian Exposition Comparative Library Exhibit (Chicago, 1893). Also, files of the school consisting of course materials, exams, publications of the School, student records, admission files, class lists and rankings, and some related correspondence.

Correspondence, research notes, articles, clippings, photostats, and photographs. These files concern his interest in Pierre Bayle, Antoine Arlier, and the Renaissance in Provence, as well as the Romanic Review, philology, French, Spanish, and celtic studies. Among the correspondents are: Philippe Berthelot, Nicholas Murray Butler, F.R. Coudert, John H. Finley, the Prince de Ligne, Curtis Hidden Page, William B. Parsons, and Aime ́Puech.

This collection consists of the materials used to compile the report, Columbia's Academic Eminence: A Report by the University Development Plan Committee's Subcommittee on Academic Eminence, 1954-1955. There are surveys for each academic department (Philosophy) and "field of learning" (Ethics, Logic, Metaphysics). There are also some subcommitee records: minutes, correspondence, outlines, and drafts of the final report.

Papers of Robinson, covering his secondary and college education (1884-1895), his early positions as a high school principal (1895-1907), his academic post at University of Minnesota, and his first three months at Columbia University. Robinson's incoming correspondence includes some originals and carbon copies of his own letters, related papers, clippings, and memorabilia. The papers deal with a wide range of public affairs issues on the local, state, national, and international levels. Letters with federal officials and legislators, 1898-1907, include those of Senator Henry Cabot Lodge, concerning U.S. foreign policy in the Pacific Ocean, particularly the possible acquisition of the Caroline Islands. For the period 1907-1915, topics include charities, civic associations, U.S. tariff reform, and U.S. bank reform. Other letters relate to family, personal, and social matters; to academic posts, including letters of recommendation; to European trips as a delegate at the 1909 Darwin Centennial and the 1914 University of Leipzig's 500th anniversary; to membership in professional associations; to writings; to secondary education including offical reports while he was principal at St. Paul Central High School; and correspondence with other economists.
