A collection of letters written to Frederick W. Dupee and George Stade in connection with their work as editors of THE SELECTED LETTERS OF E.E. CUMMINGS, published in 1969. There are letters from numerous friends and associates of Cummings, including Kenneth Burke, Malcolm Cowley, Marion Morehouse Cummings (Mrs. E.E. Cummings), John Dos Passos, Max Eastman, Marianne Moore, and Allen Tate. Also, 24 drawings by E.E. Cummings dating from the 1920 and 1930s.

Correspondence, working notes, and drafts used by Dowden (b. ca. 1933) in compiling his work A BIBLIOGRAPHY OF WORKS BY ALLEN GINSBERG. Dowden corresponded with many writers, publishers, editors, and libraries in compiling a comprehensive bibliography of Allen Ginsberg's poetry and prose, published before 1 July 1967. Among the correspondents are Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Allen Ginsberg, John Clellon Holmes, Robert La Vigne, Gerard Malanga, Fernanda Pivano, and Gary Snyder.

Also included are ten letters from Ginsberg to Louis Untermeyer regarding Ginsberg's poetry; and four letters from Gisnberg to Stanley Wertheim.

Letters and manuscripts by George Sterling, including three personal letters, drafts of four poems, a 15 page typescript of his poem "Yosemite", inscribed to his friend Fenner Hale Web, a 95 page typescript of his verse drama "Lilith", and a bibibliography of Sterlings works by Sterling in 1925. Also includes two sheets signed and addressed by Sterling, 8 photographs of Sterling, and a printed copy of his bookplate.

The collection is centered around the writings of Tindall, including notes, correspondence, manuscripts, and typescripts of his studies of Samuel Beckett, Wallace Stevens, Dylan Thomas, James Joyce, and D.H. Lawrence.
