The Bennett papers consist mainly of correspondence, writings, addresses and records from organizations in which Bennett was involved. Correspondence ranges from UTS-related matters to individual correspondence, much of it international and on themes of interest to Bennett, such as pacifism and communism, as well as important correspondence related to four U.S. presidential elections. A significant collection of lectures, sermons and addresses covers the full range of Bennett's ethical, political and human rights interests. His writings are represented by articles, reviews and contributions to volumes with accompanying correspondence.

A collection of documents signed by American presidents and bound together in a single volume. Every president, except Eisenhower and Nixon, is represented in the collection. The documents, which are mostly military and naval appointments, certificates of merit, etc. are routine in nature, but an autographed copy (printed) of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's second inaugural address and a signed mimeographed copy of Lyndon Baines Johnson's speech to Congress, November 27, 1963, are also included.

Azariah C. Flagg papers, 1824-1866

Letters to Flagg from political figures of the Jackson-Van Buren era. The correspondence is particularly useful in shedding light on the conduct of the national campaign of 1848, when Van Buren ran as an independent candidate for the presidency. There are 90 letters written to Flagg, among which are 41 from Martin Van Buren, 34 from Preston King, and nine from John A. Dix.

The papers are rich in information about the economic, business, and political history of the Federalist, late Confederation, and early Republican periods, the Hamiltonian program, and the disputed election of 1800. Also, correspondence, miscellaneous notes, and the typescripts of three of Prof. Wettereau's works, THE HISTORY OF THE FIRST BANK OF THE UNITED STATES, STATISTICAL RECORDS OF THE FIRST BANK OF THE UNITED STATES, 1771-1811, and DEWITT CLINTON'S CANDIDACY FOR THE PRESIDENCY.

S. Whitney Phoenix letters collection, 1554-1933

Personal letters written by Phoenix to friends and associates, and letters which Phoenix collected as autograph specimens, ranging in date from 1554 (Melanchthon) to 1933 (Franklin D. Roosevelt). Over half of Phoenix's own letters are addressed to Josiah Collins Pumpelly (1839-1920), many others are to Henry Thayer Drowne (1822-1897). The material is dated from various places in the United States and Europe and contains accounts of Phoenix's travels and comments on yachting, books, the theater, and friends. There is a series of Presidential letters ranging from Washington to Franklin D. Roosevelt. Also, an engraved portrait of Phoenix.

The cataloged correspondence includes two letters while he was Governor, one from John Peter Van Ness, New York Congressman, and Tompkin's letter to Rev. Peter I. Van Pelt on the creation of a college on Staten Island. The manuscripts consist of Tompkin's Columbia College valedictory address, biographical and genealogical items. There are 5 portraits of Tompkins and his wife as well as cabinet photographs of the Governor's mansion in Albany

Edward J. Bermingham collection, 1948-1957

Correspondence of Dwight D. Eisenhower and his friend Bermingham who first met when Eisenhower became President of Columbia. During his tenure as Columbia's President and later, as commander of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Eisenhower exchanged long letters with Bermingham, outlining in detail his views of world affairs. When Eisenhower became President of the United States, the correspondence continued, and the two men met at least twice at the White House. The collection also includes a photograph of Eisenhower, inscribed to Bermingham; letters to Bermingham from Antonio Bermúdez, director of PEMEX, and Alexander Makinsky, president of the Coca Cola Export Corporation in Paris; and some correspondence between Bermingham and Eisenhower's aides.
