This collection includes Papers of the Committee for the Education of Russian Youth in Exile, and its predecessors, Refugees in Russia and the Committee for the Rescue and Education of Russian Children, and Papers of the Committee' Director, Thomas Whittemore. The collection, which consists of correspondence, files on students supported by the Committee, financial records, photographs, manuscripts, documents, and printed materials, with the bulk dates 1914-1936.

Correspondence, reports, memoranda, case records, photographs and printed material. The archive include central and district administrative records; cammittee correspondence and minutes; and files on the various programs--such as sheltered workshops, tuberculosis sanitariums and health centers, public baths and employment bureaus--run by the two organizations. The archive also contains hundreds of photographs, including works by Lewis Hine and Jessie Tarbox Beals; extensive casework files from the beginning of social work (originally referred to as "friendly visiting among the poor"); and copies of masters and doctoral theses from the New York School of Sociel Work and other schools. Much of the research for these theses was based on the CSS files

Correspondence, documents, manuscripts and typescripts of writings, paintings, photographs, audio tapes, and printed materials. The collection chiefly consists on the Group's writings and research materials.

The collection consists mainly of correspondence, financial records, and subject files. Also included are protocols of meetings and reports, photographs, membership and subscription lists, and printed materials. The cataloged materials include manuscripts sent by such authors as Alekseĭ Remizov and Boris Zaĭt︠s︡ev for "Den ́Russkogo Rebenka" (Day of the Russian Child) in the 1930s, as well as correspondence from Nikolaĭ Vakar, Claire Boothe Luce, Aleksandra Tolstai︠a︡, and others. The bulk of the collection consists of correspondence with and about beneficiaries, and financial records from the period 1926-57.

The collection consists of 2,924 photographs and 1,327 drawing reproductions of architectural projects by the firm of John Russell Pope, and later Eggers & Higgins.

Papers include personal and professional correspondence, documents, manuscripts, photographs, drawings, printed materials. Most of the collection consists of Al'tschuler's personal and professional papers and letters from colleagues, patients and friends. Materials of the collection deal with professional affairs, revolution and civil war in Crimea, Al'tschuller's sanatorium in Yalta, emigration to Constantinople, Germany, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, activity of such organizations as Russkii zagranichnyi istoricheskii arkhiv and Vserossiiskii zemskii soiuz.

This collection contains architectural records, student work, correspondence and professional writings related to the academic and architectural practice of Walter Sobotka. The largest portion of the collection, Series 1, relates to his architectural practice and contains drawings, files, and a scrapbook of photographs and articles pertaining to his work in Europe and America. The majority of his projects consisted of residential buildings and interiors in Austria along with furniture designs. However, there is also a selection of theater interiors that Sobotka designed for RKO across the United States. Series 2 contains a limited selection of Sobotka's lectures and writings, as well as correspondence. This series also contains material relating to two of his unpublished writings, The Prefabricated House and Principles of Design, including copies of the manuscripts, correspondence with publishers, and research materials. A bound version of Principles of Design is catalogued separately and contains an appendix in which Sobotka translated into English excerpts of his correspondence with the Viennese architect Josef Frank. Series 3 contains some artwork and student drawings, as well as a few personal letters.
