This collection contains reprographic architectural drawings for the Empire State Building; photographs of the demolition of the original Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, which occupied the Fifth Avenue site; photographs of the Empire State Building under construction, circa 1930-1931 (one photograph shows former governor Alfred E. Smith standing in the building during construction), including 232 photographs by photographer Lewis Hine; photographs showing the building after completion, circa 1931-1956; scrapbooks of clippings of articles about the building, 1930-1957; and illustrations of the Empire State Building, circa 1930s-1960s. Frederick H. Knubel papers on Radio Row and the World Trade Center, 1966

The collection consists of a report created by Knubel documenting the demolition of Radio Row, a warehouse district on Manhattan's lower west side in the Financial District, to make space for the construction of the World Trade Center. The report, entitled "Spring On Radio Row: The World Trade Center Advances" was written as an assignment for an Urban Design Theory class Knubel was enrolled in as a special student in the Spring 1966. The report includes original photographs by Knubel of Radio Row before demolition, as well as collected images of the preliminary design and site plan for the World Trade Center from The Port of New York Authority. Also included in the collection are newspaper clippings from 1966 regarding the World Trade Center plan and correspondence with Look Magazine's Editorial Board regarding a possible submission.

Architectural historian Sarah Bradford Landau is a scholar, advocate, and public servant in New York City, active from the late 1970s into the second decade of the 21st century. Landau's research includes a focus on the architecture of William Appleton Potter and Edward Tuckerman Potter (on whom she wrote her dissertation), the gothic revival (especially its influence on American church architecture), and the skyscraper. The bulk of the collection is made up of research and lecture files. Additionally, the collection includes a number of personal effects, including portraits of Landau as well as her ephemera files, which include clippings, correspondence, and other mementos from the colorful and celebrated career of a public intellectual beloved in many circles in New York City and beyond.

This collection primarily contains architectural drawings, correspondence, business records, and a small number of photographs related to the projects of Emery Roth & Sons and its subsidiary entities. A large portion of the entities are represented only in the Office Records series and are identified as such. Some projects on which Emery Roth & Sons acted as architect of record are not represented in this collection, most notably the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center.
