Congressional papers consisting of correspondence memoranda, speeches, reports, photographs and printed materials relating to her terms in Congress. The collection contains general correspondence and administrative files, as well as extensive subject files on a wide variety of topics with which Abzug was involved while in Congress. Also included are Legislative files, being the chronological files of background material for legislation considered on the House floor, and printed versions of legislation by Abzug and others. The Casework Files, relating to Abzug's advocacy on behalf of constituents involved in civil rights, housing, military, employment and related cases, are closed. Among the major correspondents are Carl Albert, Abraham D. Beame, Hugh L. Carey, Gerald R. Ford, Edward I. Koch, John V. Lindsay, Nelson A. Rockefeller, and Gloria Steinem. Materials added in 1981 include: draft transcripts of an oral history, appointment books, speeches and subject files (particularly on privacy and freedom of information) all interfiled in the collection and campaign materials press releases and newspaper clippings.

Most of the collection concerns the Russian emigration in interwar Europe; a sizeable part deals with the Kadet (Constitutional Democrat) Party in the Russian Civil War. There is correspondence, manuscripts, subject files, photographs, and printed materials. There are many letters by liberal figures, such as Astrov, Viktor Chelishchev, Petr I︠U︡renev, Aleksandr Kizevetter, Pavel Mili︠u︡kov, Vladimir D. Nabokov, Vladimir Obolenskiĭ, Panina, and Ivan Petrunkevich. There are also letters from Ivan Bilibin, Alice Masaryk, and Thomas Masaryk. Manuscripts are chiefly by Astrov, and include memoirs, poems, and lectures. There are also memoirs by Panina, and eulogies by various people on Astrov. Subject files from 1917-1920 have materials on Panina's arrest and trial by the Bolsheviks, Kadet conferences, protocols of meetings of the Kadet Party central committee, and other items. Files on the emigration deal with the Russkiĭ Ochag (Russian Hearth) and other bodies, especially in Czechoslovakia. There are photographs of Astrov, Kizevetter, Nikodim Kondakov, Alice Masaryk, Panina, and others. Printed materials include books, clippings, and offprints by Astrov and others.

The Corporation awards grants to nonprofit organizations and institutions for projects that are broadly educational in nature and that show promise of having national or international impact. Certain appropriations are made for activities, such as Corporation-led initiatives that are administered by the foundation's officers. The trustees set the overall policies of the foundation and have final authority to approve all grants above $50,000 recommended by the program staff. Grants of $25,000 or less, called discretionary grants, are made upon the approval of the president and are reported to the board; larger discretionary grants, those between $25,000 and $50,000, are also reviewed by a Corporation-wide group, which makes recommendations to the president. Correspondence, notes, articles, reports, and speeches of Gildersleeve, including materials relating to the United Nations Conference in San Francisco, 1945, the Dumbarton Oaks Conference, the International Federation of University Women, the American Association of University Women, the American Council on Education, and the Near East College Association. The most note-worthy item in the collection is a letter from President Franklin D. Roosevelt, appointing Dean Gildersleeve to serve as a member of the U.S. Delegation to the Charter Conference of the United Nations. The collection also contains some material relating to Barnard College affairs.

Memoirs of Fedor F. Kirkhgof and of his wife, Vera V. Fedor's typescript memoirs (in all 220 p.) are in six parts, entitled: "Vospominanii︠a︡ adʺi︠u︡tanta komendanta glavnoĭ kvartiry shtaba verkhovnogo glavnokomandui︠u︡shchego"; "Pokhod Leĭb-Gvardiĭ Izmaĭlovskogo Polka 1914-1918"; "Posledniĭ period Leĭb-Gvardiĭ Izmaĭlovskogo Polka"; "Moe vozvrashchenie s voĭny"; "Moi︠a︡ zhizn ́v Petrograde v 1918 i 1919 godakh i komandirovka osobogo naznachenii︠a︡ v Berlin v 1918 godu"; and "Moi︠a︡ zhizn ́na Ukraine v 1919 godu." The typescript memoirs of Vera Kirkhgof, entitled "Moi︠a︡ shkola" (16.), mostly discuss her education at the Shaffe girls' gymnasium in St. Petersburg.
